San Cosme Chapel
460 W. Simpson St.
Tucson, AZ, 85701
This little chapel was built in 1929 by people who volunteered from the barrio (neighborhood). It is constructed of adobe and then whitewashed. It has a Spanish tile roof and a tiny bell tower. It was dedicated by Tucson’s Catholic Diocese in 1931. In the 1960’s the mass was no longer held in this little chapel. But in 2003 barrio residents worked together to raise money for San Cosme. Today, Barrio Viejo neighbors care for this special chapel and celebrate mass monthly here.

- Help with there is food to eat and clothing to wear
